I finished a powder room e-design a few weeks ago and thought I would share some design ideas for those pesky, small bathrooms!
Our powder room is actually a good size and it’s probably my favorite room in our house! That might be weird, but I love the design elements we put into it. You can see the room reveal here and shop the room here.
For really small bathrooms [and other rooms in general], I think it’s best to have one design feature that really stands out. Then, you don’t need as much decor or anything else because that feature is the focus.
As you’ll see in the designs below, shiplap, wainscoting, board and batten, and wallpaper are all great options to accomplish this!

Another thought regarding small bathrooms is lighter is better! As you can see in these designs, I love the idea of white shiplap/wainscoting and a white vanity. It’s important to keep it light and bright, especially when there is no natural light in the room!
The room I did this particular e-design for was already painted SW Agreeable Gray, so you can see I did try to incorporate that into a design as well. Sometimes, the less work the better! Although design elements can make a huge statement in these types of rooms, they are a lot of work! Agreeable Gray is one of my favorite paint colors. You can see examples of it and read more about why I love it here.
Which look is your favorite? I’m curious!
