I feel like it’s been forever since I’ve posted! How is it even August?! Crazy! (PS. If you missed my roundup of July’s top 5 best sellers, check them out here!) Today, I’m sharing four coastal casual powder room designs. I love designing bathrooms! Something about the smaller spaces that allows for a little bit more fun! 😉
Before we get to the good stuff below, let’s talk color palette – my favorite place to start! For the first three designs, I used the same color palette:
- Decorator’s White
- Hale Navy
- Van Courtland Blue
- Sea Salt
- Gray Owl
- White Dove
These are definitely coastal colors in my book! I love the combination of whites and blues with a touch of green and gray. The fourth design has a slightly more “earthy” feeling palette with these colors:
- Pure White
- Aloof Gray
- Cornwall Slate
- Hale Navy

#1 – Palm Print Wallpaper
I love love love wallpaper in bathrooms! I’ve done peel and stick wallpaper in several rooms in my house (see my tips here) and every time I’ve been thrilled with the result! And I have to say I am absolutely OBSESSED with the palm print wallpaper in this design! The color is perfect!
I added a round wood mirror, woven accents, and wood stools to add a warm touch to the room. Coastal-feeling greenery and a pretty watercolor print compliment the wallpaper perfectly!

#2 – Grasscloth Wallpaper with Board and Batten
Another wallpaper design! Grasscloth wallpaper is a perfect coastal casual option! I recently added a similar grasscloth peel and stick wallpaper to my water closet in my master bathroom and it completely transformed the space! You can check out some of my highlights from the space on Instagram here.
For this design, I chose to do board and batten on the lower part of the wall and then wallpaper above. I like the contrast this provides as well as visual interest. Trim work is always a great way to elevate design! I wrote a post about some of my favorite trim details here! Gold accents, a super fun mirror, and modern art round out the coastal casual feel for this space!
Here are some other wallpaper options that would be perfect for a powder room!
#3 – Wainscoting with Hale Navy
This option has a slightly more traditional feel, but I also think powder rooms are a great space to do a dark or moody paint color! I added wainscoting on the bottom half or third of the wall to lighten it up a little bit. Benjamin Moore’s Hale Navy is a coastal casual paint color – super versatile! In fact Chrissy over at Chrissy Marie Blog wrote a whole article about it – read it here!
#4 – Pure White Paneling with Hale Navy
In the last design, I again selected Hale Navy above white paneling, but in this design I added woven accents and a round wood-framed mirror. The space has a whole different feeling just with a different mirror and some different artwork!
PS. Be on the lookout for an earthy coastal bedroom and bathroom post that goes with this powder room design!
