Happy Sunday! Not exactly my normal blog posting time, but I wanted to put together a quick post on some recent mid-century modern bedroom options I put together! These designs are for a master bedroom at a lake house and this room is going to be so cool once it’s done! It has a great view of the lake out two sets of windows and a vaulted ceiling. Such a cool space to unwind!

Option 1 – Ceiling Detail & Canopy Bed
For the first option I put together, I wanted to add some ceiling detail to really give a mid-century modern cabin vibe. Wood shiplap and beams play perfectly off of the wood trim in the house. Other than the ceiling, the show stopper in this room is the arched canopy bed. I also just did a blog post with a bunch of canopy bed bedroom designs that you can see here.
Option 2 – Neutral Vaulted Accent Wall
In this design, I chose to add a board and batten wall behind the bed on a large board and batten wall. I kept the wall neutral in a slightly darker shade than the rest of the walls (other three walls BM Ice Formations and accent wall in BM Rockport Gray). I added in other gray tones with an upholstered bed frame, nightstands, rug, and accent chair.
Option 3 – Green Accent Wall
Similar to Option 2, this option also features a board and batten accent wall. However, I went a little bolder with this option and did the accent wall in SW Acacia Haze. I also recently used this color in a bathroom makeover (make sure to keep an eye out for that blog post!), which you can see the mood board for here.
I also combined a little bit of the ceiling detail from Option 1 and added a white shiplap. But, possibly my favorite part of this room are the mid-century ceramic wall sconces!
Option 4 – Neutral Decor
This is the “simplest” of the four options, but that doesn’t make it less beautiful! In fact, I think it is a pretty calming bedroom for a lake house.
I have this rug in my living room (see it here) and it is super versatile. And, I love a good upholstered bed frame (see mine here) paired with neutral bedding. Lastly, this ivory dresser that I also used in Option 1 and a guest bedroom here is the perfect combination of neutral and glam!
I offer 4 e-design and 3 in-person design packages ranging in price from $75 to $375! All packages include full accessibility and communication with me as well as unlimited revisions!
Which option would you chose? Or maybe you would mix and match!
