Friday Finds: Gold Accent Decor

Friday Finds (one day late!) are here! AND BRASS IS BACK! More like brushed gold…but close enough.

It is so funny how trends seem to come back every 20 years or so. I remember brass faucets in our houses when I was growing up. Then, for a while, that was so out. But, in the last few years, gold has made a huge comeback and I AM HERE FOR IT! I love the idea of incorporating brushed gold into your home and decor. When we were building our house, one thing I was sure of is wanting brushed gold hardware in our kitchen. I used that as a launching point for incorporating brushed gold other areas of our house like our powder room and my office.

I personally think you can easily mix metals and I believe this helps from any one metal becoming too overwhelming. So, we don’t have brushed gold everywhere. In fact, in our kitchen our faucet is stainless steel even though our hardware is brushed gold. And, it works! You can, without a doubt, mix my below picks with other “neutrals” – white, black, chrome, brushed nickel, etc.

1. Overstock 3 Light Fixture // I love this for a powder room (or really any bathroom!). It reminds me of our powder room light fixture (linked below and in my powder room reveal here!). One thing we did do in our powder room was try to match the gold tones, so we picked hardware that went with our faucet and light fixture.
2. Etsy Gold Foliage Prints // I shared in my last Friday Finds here that I love the idea of seasonal prints that you can change out. I haven’t done this in my house yet (need to find a good spot for it!), but I love these gold prints for fall!
3. Wayfair Waste Basket // Who says wastebaskets are ugly? This one would add some awesome pizzazz to a bathroom!
4. CB2 Wall Clock // I love using clocks in decor. Even though I am always checking my phone for the time, I think it’s nice to be able to see a clock wherever you are. The gold in this one is subtle which makes it super easy to decorate with!
5. Pier 1 Table Lamp // I love this lamp for bedroom nightstands!
6. Target Picture Frame // I used these frames for our gallery wall in our staircase. We have 12 of them and I LOVE them. I don’t think I could oversell how much I love our gallery wall.
7. Walmart Tabletop Sculpture // True story – using decorative balls/sculptures made it into my wedding vows. I love this for coffee table or bookcase decor if you have big enough shelves!
8. Macy’s Sunburst Mirror // This mirror is so fun for over a console table!
9. World Market Honeycomb Shelf // How fun are these shelves? They would be perfect in a bedroom or nursery!
10. Pottery Barn Votive Set // I have these (and the white ones too) for our coffee table centerpiece. They can also easily be used for a dining room table centerpiece! I am for sure planning on incorporating them into my holiday decor!

I also wanted to share how I incorporated brushed gold into our home. I mainly did this through hardware and plumbing fixtures, and then added a few touches into our decor as well.
