Hello friends! I got a new bar cart a few weeks ago and I finally finished styling it! It took a lot of trial and error to get it to look the way I wanted, so I thought I would share some bar cart styling tips today!

Gold Bar Cart
First, let’s talk about the actual bar cart itself. You can see my original bar cart in my dining room reveal here. Although it was a really pretty bar cart, it was much more rustic, and went better in our old house. I felt like it was too dark and heavy for my current style, so I wanted something that felt lighter. I have gold accents in the rest of my house and wanted to incorporate it in the dining room, so I went with a gold mirrored bar cart!
It’s also considerably taller than our old bar cart, which is great when you have tall walls! [Ours are 10′ for reference!]
You can find it below along with 8 other gorgeous gold bar carts – all under $200!
Elements of Bar Cart Styling
I’m including all the items I used to style the bar cart, along with some of my dining room decor, at the bottom of this post!
- Booze | I think this goes without saying!
- Glassware | I incorporated 6 wine glasses and 4 himalayan salt shot glasses. The bar cart has room for probably 12 wine glasses, but I don’t have that many that match! [I store my non-matching wine glasses and fun shot glasses in our dining room buffet. Check out this post for some dining room buffet decor ideas!]. We also have a decanter that we got as a gift which I display here!
- Cocktail Accessories | I included a shaker, fun pineapple cocktail picks for summer, and a bar tool set. I also included coasters to put cocktails on once they are made!
- Books | Books are so great for decorating! I used 3 books – all drink-making related with lots of good recipes I’m excited to try – in this set up!
- Greenery | I love to incorporate greenery or flowers to break up all the metal and glass! These stems and vase are old but you can use literally any type of greenery! I also like having a plant next to the bar car, if you have room!
- Decor | Then, you can fill in some accessories! I added a cute bar sign and a vase full of faux lemons for summer! You’ll also see a summer cocktail art print below – showing another way to easily change up the bar cart decor!
Finalizing Your Bar Cart Decor
Once you have all the items you want to include in your bar cart, you can tie it all together with a few decor staples! I used a cutting board to designate an area for the alcohol, and a tray to break up the bottom shelf. These elements really help to elevate the overall decor and make it look purposeful!
Seasonal Bar Cart Decor
I’m really excited to decorate this bar cart for different seasons. This is a great summer look, which can be easily transformed throughout the year [for example, check out my patriotic bar cart here!]! I can change out the greenery, cocktail picks, vase filler, and art print for each season! Follow me on Instagram to see more bar cart styling looks!

Where did you purchase the galvanized rectangular tray?

I believe it was Target but it was a while ago! It’s a Hearth and Hand with Magnolia brand!
