Happy Sunday! Today, I’m sharing my summer dining room! Can you believe we’re already half way through June?? I’m trying to add a few patriotic touches to my decor for July 4th but I think I might run out of time!
Anyways, this is a classic look that can really work all year round! Enjoy!

Coastal Farmhouse Dining Room
I’d say the overall feel of my dining room is coastal farmhouse. The paint color above the wainscotting is SW Dorian Gray and the wainscotting is a custom color to match our kitchen cabinets [more on our kitchen here and the rest of the paint colors in our house here].
I’ve definitely made some updates to this space since we moved in a year and a half ago! You can see how I originally decorated my dining room here. The larger jute rug made all the difference in the world [9’x12′ for reference!] and the rattan end chairs are possibly my favorite chairs in my house!
Summer Decor Updates
For summer, I wanted to keep everything light and airy. The biggest difference for summer are the faux stems I used! I used 5 skimma stems from the Hearth & Hand with Magnolia line at Target for my centerpiece. I also kept the runner simple and light with a linen one from Pottery Barn. Then, I used 4 dogwood stems [from last year’s Hearth & Hand line] in a large glass vase on the buffet table. These stems are 46″ tall and adding height to the buffet table makes a huge difference, especially when you have high ceilings like we do!
The faux palm is a new addition as well, and I am OBSESSED with it! It will stay here all year round! You can also check out some dining room buffet table decor ideas I posted here.
Summer Bar Cart
The other place I added some summer touches is our bar cart. You can read all about the bar cart and how I styled it here. Lemons are a great summer accent, so I added these faux ones to a clear vase. I also got some cute pineapple cocktail picks!
Our dining room table, bench, and side chairs are a few years old from Raymour & Flanigan. Eventually, these are going to be updated as I’m moving away from dark wood but they work for now! I’m linking some similar pieces to the older items in my dining room below for your shopping pleasure!
