Happy Friday y’all! This weekend is a big one – Valentine’s Day and President’s Day on Monday! Be on the lookout for President’s Day sales and finds from Home by KMB – I’m not sure how I’m going to post about them yet, so be sure to follow me on Instagram and LikeToKnow.it so you don’t miss anything!
Anywho, today I’m sharing three lakehouse bunk room designs for Furnishing Friday! These rooms are actually an extension of the designs I shared last Furnishing Friday – these rustic farmhouse guest bedrooms!
The bunk room is connected to the guest bedroom and has a set of wood barn doors separating the two! This bunk room is actually big enough for the bunks and a freestanding queen bed, so what I was focused on was decorating the room outside of the actual bunks!
Bunk Room Inspiration
First though, I wanted to share some bunk room inspiration. Here are three gorgeous bunk options with a little bit of a modern coastal feel. These would all be perfect for a lakehouse!
I love the shiplap and wood railing in this next one! It really adds so much interest to the room and the wood tones warm it up!
This blue color is giving me all the heart eyes!

Lakehouse Bunk Room Design – Option 1
Option 1 made the most use of what was already in place! I utilized the bedding that is currently on the bunk beds and moved the bedding from the queen bed in the bunk room to the guest room next door. This is a great option with my design service because I can work with pieces you want to keep! I added a rug and faux fiddle plant for warmth. I also love having some sort of mirror in a bedroom so I added a mirror above the dresser. Last, I suggested bookshelves as this is a room that the grandkids use, so I thought bookshelves would be a great touch for their bedtime routines!
Option 2
In option 2 and 3, I added new bedding to the bunk beds. This bedding is from Beddy’s and I have heard amazing things about their bedding – especially for bunks! I’m actually planning to add my own Beddy’s bedding to the daybed in our bonus room. For this design, I wanted to keep everything really light and bright as there is only 1 window in this room. I added a little bit of a modern touch with the cream, black, and gray color palette.
Option 3
Option 3 has the most “lakehouse” features – mostly focusing on the artwork! I used fish prints to create a gallery wall about the dresser and lake prints above the bed. I also utilized the bedding currently on the queen bed and just enhanced it with new throw pillows and side table with lamp. Lastly, I also added a little side table by the bunk beds as lack of storage or somewhere to put things is always an issue with bunks!
Which of these bunk room designs is your favorite? If it was me, I would probably end up taking elements from each of them, lol!
