Hi friends! While I am starting to think about my fall front porch, I had to share a recent refresh I did of my porch! It’s a little summer-y but really works for an all year round coastal farmhouse front porch. With palms, neutral tones, and blue accents, I’m so happy with how it turned out!
You can check out my initial reveal of our front porch here. We have a long front porch (31′ long by 8′ wide), and I break it up into three areas for decorating: front door, rocking chairs (right of front door), and porch swing (left of front door).
I linked everything I could at the very bottom of this post! Message me here if you can’t find something you are looking for or have any questions!

Front Door
The first change I made to the porch was the addition of these faux palms, which I bought on sale during WayDay. You can’t get much more coastal than these! I propped them up in these 24″ tall white planters with large concrete bricks that I got from Home Depot for $0.99 each. I used three in each planter to make the palms the height I wanted and also take up space in the planters. The remainder of the planters are filled with rocks and dirt. The fluted planters are from At Home and are a great dupe of these beautiful Pottery Barn ones!
I usually have a wreath on the door but there’s something nice and refreshing about the simplicity of just the door!
Rocking Chairs
The next major change I made was new rocking chairs! I loved our old rocking chairs but we had a little bit of a power washer mishap and ripped up the wood and cushion on one of them, whoops. I was also eyeing a gorgeous modern chair with cushions from Oka but my husband convinced me we needed to go as low maintenance as possible. Even though these don’t have cushions, they are super comfortable!
I’ve been debating buying these pom pom pillows for months now and finally decided to pull the trigger during Pottery Barn’s warehouse sale. I love the neutral color and plan to use them through fall!
Porch Swing
I LOVE our porch swing and all I did was swap out some pillows here. I would do a few things differently with the swing, if I could go back in time though:
- Have a custom swing made with rope vs. chain (I bought this one for budget purposes and it was not great to install in our ceiling. I would have just hired out the whole thing to get the exact look I wanted.)
- Sticking with this Wayfair swing, I would have tried to protect it from mold/mildew first thing. By the time I did that, it was too late. The intense amount of scrubbing/washing we have done hasn’t made any difference. Even though the porch is covered, rain still comes in (we get some pretty crazy storms!) plus with the humidity, this really never stood a chance to stay clean.
