Hi friends! Today, I’m sharing two modern farmhouse bedroom and bathroom designs I recently put together as part of a whole house design. I LOVE how this house design turned out. It’s going to be stunning once it’s done!
The design boards below are part of my 2D full room mood board package!

Master Bedroom & Bathroom
This master bedroom features a vaulted ceiling, which I really wanted to show off and take advantage of. I started with putting wood beams on the ceiling a la Studio McGee. I included a pretty black woven chandelier (but also a fan option, because I NEED a ceiling fan in my bedrooms!). Lastly, to take advantage of the height, I did a canopy bed from Pottery Barn.
The color palette for this bedroom (and whole house) is very neutral but with a touch of drama. I wanted to add an accent wall behind the bed and selected this Spoonflower charcoal grasscloth wallpaper. The other three walls would be a shade of white (showing BM Swiss Coffee and SW Pure White) to flow with the rest of the house. Dark velvet curtains help to create that dramatic but cozy look.
For the bathroom, I wanted to incorporate a trim detail on the walls and chose vertical shiplap in white (same color as the three walls in the bedroom) to put behind the vanity and in the water closet. I wanted to continue to run some of the charcoal accents into the bathroom to tie the bedroom in nicely. I selected black fixtures for the shower and hardware but wanted to mix metals to give a sophisticated feel. Brushed gold faucets and two tone lights tie everything together!
Guest Bedroom & Bathroom
I wanted to keep this room light and bright but still bring in a lot of warmth. The walls would be white to flow with white walls in the majority of the rest of the house. I selected a warm wood toned dresser from Crate & Barrel and rustic farmhouse style nightstands. I added contrast with a black upholstered bed. The botanical prints and throw pillow fabrics tie together the modern farmhouse feel!
For this bathroom, I wanted to add a fun accent wall. Similar to the other rooms, I wanted to add some drama and depth through darker colors but create light and bright balance. I selected a fun printed wallpaper from Ballard Designs for behind the vanity and toilet. With wallpaper like this, it’s important to keep decor minimal so as to not compete with the wallpaper. I wanted to put something over the toilet so I added a floating shelf (same one I have in my office bathroom here) and some very simple artwork.
