Hello friends, happy January! If you’ve been following me for any amount of time, it’s no secret that I love the color blue. It’s definitely my favorite accent color. So, when I saw one of my favorite designers, Bria Hammel, doing a #31HuesofWinterBlues series, I felt inspired to share some of my blue hues with you!
Before I dive into some of the blues in my home and designs I put together, I wanted to share some inspiration. Make sure you follow Bria’s series on Instagram this month here and check out her favorite blue and white spaces here! Another one of my go-to bloggers for paint colors is Life on Virginia Street. She has put together several great paint resources featuring blues! Check them out here:

Blues in My Home
I have a variety of blue in my home, mostly through decor. I incorporated some blue paint in our home design through cabinetry. Our kitchen island (shown below) is SW Dustblu, which is actually a cool gray (per Sherwin William’s website anyways) but really takes on a bluer tone with the light in our kitchen! More photos can be found in my kitchen and butler’s pantry reveal post here. We repeated this color in our laundry room cabinetry and kids bathroom vanity. Our powder room vanity is SW Inkwell, which is a super super dark blue, almost black. You can check out that vanity in my powder room reveal post here.
Blue Design Boards
Many of my clients like my personal home’s style so it’s no surprise that I use blue tones quite often in their designs! Below I’m sharing a never-before-seen guest room design, featuring a blue wallpaper (more blue wallpaper picks here!), blue bedding, blue curtains, and a few other blue accents to tie it all together!
My own guest room and guest bath is currently painted SW Krypton, which is a light blue with slate gray undertone. Check it out on my paint colors page here.

You don’t need to do all blue everywhere for it to have an impact! In the below dining room design, I featured a blue patterned Serena & Lily wallpaper, paired with a blue outlined rug. Blue is definitely the dominate color in the room, with the remained of the color palette and furniture done in neutral tones. You can read more about this design in this blog post!
