Happy Sunday friends! A few weeks back on Instagram, I got a request for kid friendly family room mood boards. As it turned out, I was also working on some kid friendly living room designs, so it was perfect timing!
I’ve put together several mood boards and design boards below so I hope something speaks to you and your style!
Kid Friendly Design Elements
First, let’s talk about some elements to keep in mind when you are thinking about kid friendly spaces!
- Performance Fabric – I always recommend performance fabric! Why not!
- Round furniture – no sharp corners!
- Storage
- Patterned rugs – better to hide stains!
- Family photos! 🙂
Mood Boards
These two mood boards have total different styles or looks, but the same elements, and I love both!
Design Boards
I put together three different design boards for a living room that was open to the front door and “entryway”. I also put in some kitchen ideas on these boards because this was really an open concept space. I’m a huge believer in creating cohesion and flow throughout the house! I like to see everything together to determine how it all go together! I always get asked about paint colors on my design boards so here are the colors:
- SW Greek Villa
- BM Mocha Cream
- SW Sycamore Tan
- SW Oyster Bay
- SW Tradewind
- BM Hale Navy
Loft
I also recently put together this fun loft space that would be perfect for a hang out room or movie watching with kids. It has lots of fun colors and a modern coastal vibe!
Did I miss any kid friendly design elements!? Let me know in a comment below!
