Hi friends! I recently put together some centerpiece ideas for a dining table, coffee table, and ottoman for a client and thought I would share those today! I put together a few different ideas to switch up the centerpieces throughout the year for the season as well. Keep on scrolling to get all the details!

Dining Table
For the dining table, I put together two different sets of ideas. The first is a simple centerpiece which can be displayed every day, with seasonal variations included!
My biggest tip for these looks to make sure you have enough stems in your vase to fill it out and make it look full! For example, below I have 5 of these plum cimicifuga stems in this vase. I bent the bottom of each stem so that the height was appropriate for the vase. I like the floral part of the stem to start around the top of the vase. You also want to make sure to fluff each individual branch on your stems! This makes a huge difference in how they lay in the vase and how real they look! Secondly, I put together a more detailed tablescape idea for fall and Christmas, which is great if you are hosting for any of the upcoming holidays! I’ve posted some other tablescape design ideas like these in the past on my LTK, summarized here:
The simple rustic holiday tablescape I put together above reminds me of my 2020 Christmas tablescape where I used a long, full magnolia garland from Etsy (no longer available) as my centerpiece. You can read all the details here!
Coffee Table
First, I put together a few ideas for your traditional wood, rectangular coffee table. In design, I often work in groups of three, which is exactly what I did in all these designs! They are all very similar variations of the same basic layout:
- Vase with stems
- Book stack with decorative item on top
- Candles or bowl with decorative items
The other centerpieces I put together were for an ottoman used as a coffee table. In this case, since the ottoman isn’t hard on top, I used trays to gather the decor and give it a hard surface to balance on.
My own coffee table is a little bit of a mix of the two styles as it is a hand woven table and one of my favorite furniture pieces! You can shop my coffee table decor here.
I put together these designs as part of my 2D Small Space Mood Board package. If you’re interested in learning more about my design service and package options, click here!
