Hi, friends! Happy February! That seems crazy to say. I’ve been busy with all kinds of designs lately (thank you!). This week I finished a sweet animal nursery design for a previous client! I like to give several options as part of my design packages, so I put together three different design boards. Sharing them below!
I love working on multiple rooms for the same client because it really allows me to get to know your style and also helps to achieve a cohesive look across your home. To see the other rooms I’ve designed for this home, check out this post and also these LTK images (because I haven’t gotten around to blogging about this space!): open concept rug options, sitting area. If you don’t follow me in LTK, it is a free app where I post photos of my home, design boards, and product round ups with direct links to products. You can follow me here!
On to the nursery designs!

Warm, Modern Vibes
For this nursery, we were going for a gender neutral look (they aren’t finding out the sex!) with an animal theme. For my nursery designs, I often have a “theme” but you don’t want to overdo it and make every single thing part of the theme. You want to have a tasteful collection of items that play into the theme. My clients also had picked out this crib – which I actually used in a prior design that you can see here.
This nursery is fairly small at 9’x12′ with three doors that open into the room. This limited my options with furniture placement and meant that we needed to utilize the top of the dresser as the changing table. I also include a floorplan layout in most of my design packages (unless it’s totally not necessary!).
Neutral and Colorful Balance
This design has a lot of fun accents that I balanced out with a light wood tone dresser and mirror. I used a “jungle” wallpaper for an accent wall behind the dresser. Because of the wallpaper, I used less animal items than I did in some of the other designs to make sure the room stayed sophisticated feeling. In order to add in some coastal colors that tie into other furniture we’ve picked for the rest of the house, I added a navy blue glider/recliner and blue curtains.
Soft, Coastal Vibes
This look is a little bit more coastal to me and dare I say, feminine – although definitely still gender neutral! It has a lighter feel thanks to the white dresser, neutral glider, white fan, and brass hardware. I also added more rattan accents with the floor lamp. I used a fern leaf peel and stick wallpaper to create an accent wall behind the crib, which I actually also used in another animal themed nursery design. Check out that design here!
I offer 4 e-design and 3 in-person design packages ranging in price from $75 to $375! All packages include full accessibility and communication with me as well as unlimited revisions!
