Hi friends, happy Friday! Back today with another round of #furnishingfriday, featuring a coordinating formal and informal living room design I recently put together! These two rooms are right next to each other and I wanted to try to distinguish each room’s purpose! Even though I wanted them to each have a specific look for their purpose, I used a base color palette of beiges and grays with blue accents to make sure there was great flow from room to room!

Formal Living Room
The formal living room has SW Accessible Beige walls. This room was very long but narrow. I wanted to create a nice “conversation” seating area, so I chose to do two small sofas with two chairs across from the fireplace. The stone fireplace is really the focal point in this room so I wanted to make sure we match it’s scale with a large mirror and decor pieces on either side.
Lastly, an important item to note is that the room didn’t have a chandelier or ceiling fan in the center and I think that really ties everything together! Especially in consideration of having a conversation area.
Informal Living Room
The informal living room is also SW Accessible Beige – paint is the single easiest way to create cohesion between rooms! You’ll also notice I used the same curtains in the room as the formal living room. The purpose of this room was to be a comfortable space for TV watching so I picked a sectional and a rug with some color. I wanted to make sure the scale of the artwork and TV stand matched the scale of the sectional. For the TV stand, I accomplished this by adding large sconces on either side of the TV to create the illusion of more width!
Breakfast Nook
I also put together two different breakfast nook ideas that coordinate with the living room designs. In this home, the kitchen was open to the formal living room. The design on the left is a little more modern vs the design on the right, a little bit more farmhouse, but both work with the colors and finishes in the living room(s)!
These designs are part of my 2 room 2D mood board package!
I offer 4 e-design and 3 in-person design packages ranging in price from $75 to $375! All packages include full accessibility and communication with me as well as unlimited revisions!
