Happy Friday friends! It’s been a while since I published a blog post (always) but I am back today with Furnishing Friday! Today, I am sharing an earthy coastal master bedroom and bathroom design that I put together a while ago! For this project, I actually helped to design the whole house as part of a large renovation! You can see the other rooms I’ve shared so far from this project here and here.
I’m going to share two looks for both the master bedroom and bathroom that are “smaller” and “larger” renovations/redesigns. For all the designs, I’ve used the same color palette as follows:
- Pure White (wall color in other areas of the house)
- Aloof Gray (wall color)
- Rare Gray (accent color)
- Hale Navy (accent color)

Master Bedroom
with current furniture:
One of the perks of my design packages is that I can work with your current furniture! In this design, we kept the bedroom set that the client currently has (bed frame and nightstands) and I added accent pieces around it. I also incorporated lamps, a rug, and artwork they already had!
I love clean white bedding for a luxe look in the master bedroom! These pinch pleat Amazon curtains also help create a luxurious feeling. If there is room in the bedroom, I always like to incorporate a chair and full length mirror as well.
with new furniture:
My clients were hoping to replace their bed and nightstands at some point in the future, so I went ahead and put together an idea with new furniture. You can see how different the room feels with just replacing these items. A little bit lighter and fresher! I kept everything else the same and added in decor elements on the nightstands and entertainment stand here. I will also be posting a reel on Instagram to show how furniture and decor can change the look of a room soon! Be sure to follow me here so you don’t miss it!
Master Bathroom
smaller scale renovation:
In the master bathroom, we continued the same paint color for continuity and flow. Repeating paint colors is my #1 tip for cohesion in your home design! Check out my paint tips here. In this design, I left the built-in tub as is, but updated the fixtures and added a chandelier. I added a ton of interest to the room with this hexagon tile!
full renovation:
Taking the renovation another step, I removed the built-in tub and added a freestanding one with floor mount tub filler. I also added tile behind the tub which is great because it prevents the drywall from getting wet. I don’t think it’s necessary to do in all cases but in this instance, the shower was right to the left of the tub, so it made sense to continue the shower wall tile behind the freestanding tub! I also moved the vanity lighting to add sconces to either side of the mirrors.
The designs above are a combination of my 2D full room and 3D full room design packages! I am more than happy to put together customized design packages based on your needs! In my 3D package, I typically do a separate design board for each wall so that you can really see how each angle in the room would look. Both packages include a room layout board as well!
I offer 4 e-design and 3 in-person design packages ranging in price from $75 to $375! All packages include full accessibility and communication with me as well as unlimited revisions!
I really love this “earthy coastal” style! It incorporates modern/casual coastal elements with a natural feeling! What do you think? Master bedroom and bathroom design has a natural flow since the rooms are next to each other. I’d love to help you create your own master bedroom and bathroom retreat!
