My best friend is starting to think about decorating her guest bedroom so I thought I would put together two fun design boards!
I started by considering the paint color she has in her room [she’s not going to repaint] – Sherwin Williams Agreeable Gray – and then looked for coordinating colors. This helped me to decide on a color palette for the room.
Agreeable Gray is a really popular warm gray and it’s very easy to work with. In fact, it’s one of my favorite gray colors if you are looking for a gray with a beige undertone! Check out how it looks in my husband’s grandparents home here and my tips for picking paint colors here.
The first look is a modern farmhouse style, which I think would go perfectly in their house!

I love the warmth the leather chair adds and the stay awhile sign is perfect for a guest room! My friend already has a metal bedframe, rustic nightstands, and a wood chest [or tall dresser] so I used similar items in this design.
The second look incorporates whites and blacks for a more modern feel.
I used the same bed frame in both designs and we actually have this bed frame in one of our guest rooms! Even though the two rooms are different styles, the bed frame works for both!
These designs boards really help me get a feel for a space and see how items are going to work together! I need to start doing them for my own house!
