Hi friends! It’s been a while! I’m back today sharing a home office and gym design and it’s a good one! I received a lot of great feedback on the first home office and gym combo design I did (see it here!) and I hope this one turns out just as great for my clients!
Home Gym and Office: 1 Room, 3 Options
For this room, I actually came up with 3 design options. The room is fairly small to fit both an office and home gym into at around 12′ x 11′. As a result, I wanted to show some different ideas to see what fit my clients’ needs the best!
For all 3 designs, I stuck with the same color palette – which you can see in the mood board above. They are (all Benjamin Moore): Simply White, Revere Pewter, Chelsea Gray, and Wrought Iron. I actually only used two of these colors in my designs below – Simply White and Chelsea Gray – but wanted to provide other complimentary colors for the rest of the house. I believe paint is the #1 way to create cohesion throughout your spaces!
Without further ado, let’s get to the designs!
Option 1
There were a few things I incorporated into each design based on what my clients’ wanted: their Peloton tread, a full length mirror, mat to do yoga workouts, a small TV, ceiling fan (so necessary in a home gym!), weight storage, and a desk.
For the first design, I incorporated a feature wall by suggesting vertical shiplap on the wall you see from the doorway. I also added wallpaper as an accent in what is currently a closet. Because of the small scale of the room, I suggested taking off the closet doors in all of my designs to make the space feel bigger.
I also added a beautiful black corner desk (shop it below – it’s actually 3 separate pieces) from Pottery Barn with ample storage!
Option 2
I added some more natural touches in design #2. Instead of pre-made floor length mirrors, I suggested larger mirror sheets which then could be made to look “built-in” to the wall with moldings. Mysha at Remington Avenue (a DIY queen!) did something similar recently in her home gym and it really looks amazing!
I wanted to soften the room with a large olive tree and curtains. For this design, I focused more on the gym space. So, to save space, I put a floating desk in the “closet” area with floating shelves above. I also incorporated a feature here by wrapping this area in shiplap.
Option 3
For the third option, I put together a new mood board as well! It’s a different look but equally as modern with masculine touches in my opinion!
For this design, I went back to the layout and features I included in option 1, but incorporated some of those warmer touches from option 2. I added more greenery and a rug. I also changed the desk out for something smaller to make sure it wouldn’t overpower the room.
I offer 4 e-design and 3 in-person design packages ranging in price from $50 to $275! All packages include full accessibility and communication with me as well as unlimited revisions!
Which option is your favorite?! Let me know in a comment below!
