Hi friends! Remember this main floor design I did a few weeks ago? Well, we’re moving on up! Literally! I started working on another design board for the same house – an upstairs bathroom that will be primarily used by the Mr. of the household and guests.

I used the same color palette as I did in those main floor designs to create cohesion throughout the house. I like to stick with one wall color in as many places as possible and then add accent colors in certain rooms, cabinets, or feature walls. Similarly, I like to repeat cabinet colors – not saying every single cabinet has to be white or a similar neutral – but you don’t want every vanity to be a completely different color! For this bathroom, I wanted to repeat the color they just painted their kitchen cabinets – BM Chantilly Lace. You can read all about why Chantilly Lace is a great white paint color in this article from one of my favorite designers, Megan Molten.
They already had the hardwood peel and stick tile flooring [side note: I can definitely work with pieces you already have in my designs! Check out other FAQs on my design service here.] and from there the rest started to come together!
Modern Farmhouse Bathroom Design
I love how this all came together! It’s modern, farmhouse, and masculine – but not too masculine – at the same time. I put a basket on top of the toilet for extra toilet paper storage and then placed the shelf a little higher up with the “remember to flush” sign underneath. Sometimes, one individual floating shelf above the toilet can look to small for the scale of the wall and ceiling height. I usually suggest either doing two shelves, or putting some sort of art/sign above or below the shelf to add extra height! Also, I have to point out that the candle on the vanity is going to be so perfect for a men’s bathroom – and it comes in a “sexy man” scent lol!
I wanted to do a non-traditional towel bar/hooks to add some more interest to this back wall, so I choose an accordion wall hanger.
I’ve done quite a few bathroom looks lately! Take a look at some of my other bathroom design boards (here, here, and here) and let me know which one is your favorite!
