Hi friends! Happy Thursday – I’m here with another new design board! This modern farmhouse entryway design is definitely one my favorites!
This color palette really has my heart. I’ve done several other design boards for this home, which is great because it allows everything to stay consistent and create a cohesive feel throughout the house. You can check out my other designs for this home here and here. Everything you see on the mood board above is linked below!
I should note that we are keeping their current wall color of BM Revere Pewter and have used that wall color in most other rooms in the home to create that seamless flow from one room to the next!

Modern Farmhouse Entryway Bench
I love using benches in entryways. They’re the perfect place to take your shoes off and they look great with a few hooks above to hang up your purse, jacket, or hat (plus you can add a fun pillow and blanket #canthavetoomanypillows). In this entryway, there is a 58″ nook right behind the doorway that is just perfect for a bench! I chose a traditional black bench to play off the black metal in the console table below. I also added a fun peel and stick wallpaper to create an accent wall behind the bench. Another great idea is to do shiplap or board and batten, but I specifically chose wallpaper for this space because it’s less work for a super quick DIY!
Modern Farmhouse Entryway Console Table
For this space, my client also wanted to update their old tile floor. I wanted to make sure that the flooring didn’t compete with the hardwood floors they have upstairs or the carpet in the bedrooms, so I went with something that would contrast with both of those. I choose a gray herringbone interlocking vinyl tile that will make for an easy DIY and completely modernize the space! An updated modern farmhouse semi-flush mount light fixture will also go a long way in modernizing the space!
They already had a wood and black console table and an arched mirror like the one shown below, so I worked with those! I added some new styling to the console table and some great baskets from World Market for storage. I also added a plant to the corner of this area, which serves a few purposes. Anytime you use greenery, it adds a touch of warmth to play off other modern elements in the space. I also wanted to add a little height in this corner as this is a large wall at 10′ long, so I needed to add more width to ensure the scale of the console doesn’t look too small.
Lastly, I chose a rug that will tie in all the colors in my color palette from the mood board!
Modern Farmhouse Entryway Hallway
I did one final design board for this space because as you walk into the front door, immediately in front of you is a long but fairly narrow hallway. I wanted to put something at the end of this hallway as it is the first thing you see when you enter the door. Three white frames stacked on top of each other will fill up this small wall and also allow the client to add a personal touch with some family pictures! I also added a plant in the corner and a large hook rack for extra key/coat/hat storage as this area is also near the garage.
I had so much fun putting this together! I recently completed a French Country Entryway design, so definitely take a look at that one too and tell me which one you like better!
