How in the world is it 2020? It seems like this past year flew by! [Although, I think I say that about them all.] I thought it would be fun to look back at some of my purchases over the last year and talk about some of my favorites! Without further ado….

1. Tarte Shape Tape
I tried a few different concealers this year after using the same one for probably the last 10 years. My favorite by far has been Tarte Shape Tape! I wear shade Fair-Light Neutral. It’s heavier than other concealers I’ve tried but I have very dark circles under my eyes so I like the heavier coverage. I do use a corrector underneath (find my favorite here!) and I also set it with a powder.
2. Spanx Faux Leather Leggings
These always seemed outrageously expensive to me, but recently I’ve felt like a few quality pieces are worth it as investments. At this point, I’d rather have a smaller closet of high quality pieces than a bunch of lower quality ones, so I bit the bullet and bought these after seeing SO many bloggers rave about them. I did buy them during their Black Friday/Cyber Monday sale, so they were a little bit cheaper and I have to say I am so glad I pulled the trigger! I love how they fit (I got a S for reference) and I love how they look! I don’t feel awkward wearing them like I think I might with other faux leather leggings.
3. Zella Leggings
Ok, I LOVE these leggings for wearing around and working out! They are by far my favorite pair of casual/workout leggings that I have. Also, I love the 7/8 length – I had a pair of full length ones as well but they were a little bit too long and I hate having to roll up my pants. PSA: they are on sale now as part of the Nordstorm Half Yearly Sale!
4. Lauren Conrad Christmas Pajamas
Yes, now that I have a baby I obviously had to get matching Christmas pajamas! After spending longer than I’d like to admit searching for a set that I loved, that not EVERYONE had, that didn’t cost an arm and a leg, and had a zip up pajama for babies, I found these. They were perfect – comfortable and cozy and reasonably priced. Definitely going to be wearing these through the winter!
5. Floating Shelves
I am so impressed with these shelves! They are super easy to install (per my husband lol) and they have even withstood Allison pulling herself up and hanging on the bottom one! So cute for many spaces!
6. Sweetnight Mattress
So in our master bedroom we have a VERY expensive king mattress, but our master bedroom is downstairs. During the time when we were transitioning Allison to her crib upstairs but she was still waking up once or twice a night, we slept in our guest room upstairs so that I didn’t have to go as far to get her. We have this mattress in our guest room and I have to say it was just as comfortable as our expensive master mattress! No need to spend so much money on a mattress anymore!
7. Kitchen Drawer Organization
I definitely need to do some more kitchen organization but two items have made a huge difference since we use these things every single day! First, the spice drawer – we have pull out drawers in our pantry where we keep the spices and this riser set lets us see everything perfectly! Secondly, an in drawer knife block has transformed our silverware drawer! I hate having things out on the countertops and I personally don’t think knives are all that pretty to look at usually, so I love being able to put them in the drawer nicely.
8. Halloween Decor
I bought some new Halloween decor this year (thank you, new house) that I really loved. First off, the bats! They were perfect on my entryway wall and I just attached them to the wall with tack. Second, I loved this black runner for the mantle. It was a great feature for our fireplace wall! Check out my Halloween Decor post here for more!
9. Please Hide Packages Doormat
The lady who drops off our USPS packages always compliments me on this doormat and it makes my day!
10. Blue and White Throw Pillows
I am continually looking for ways to incorporate blue into my decor without going overboard and these pillows were unexpectedly perfect! I bought them from TJ Maxx and really didn’t know what to expect but I love them!
