Hi there! First things first today – thank you SO MUCH to Caitlyn Motycka Photography for the gorgeous photos you are about to see! She snapped some pictures of our nursery during our newborn session and I am so glad she did. I am absolutely obsessed with her light and airy style (something I try to achieve in my own photos)! Read on below for how I achieved our gender neutral nursery look!

Neutral Nursery Decor
I will link all my sources at the end of this post! The nursery is 100% still a work in progress. Since we didn’t know if we were having a boy or a girl, it is mostly grey and white (but I’m obsessed with grey right now anyways). I’ve been able to add a few pops of pink (due to some lucky guesses by our friends and family!) but I still have plans to add some more girly decor (not too girly, because I’m just not a super into pink).
I saw this needlepoint Star Wars art set when I was perusing Pottery Barn Kids at the mall one day and I almost died. They are so cute! But then I had a long internal debate about whether they would be ok if we had a girl. Alex loves Star Wars and he made a good point that Star Wars has girl heroes too (hello Princess Leia!) so I pulled the trigger.
Budget-Friendly Nursery Decor
I spent a lot of time looking for reasonably priced nursery furniture. I’m definitely happy with how these pieces turned out! I think they look more expensive than they were. They took some work to assemble but in my opinion, it was well worth it (although I didn’t put together any of it lol).
Another reason the nursery isn’t quite finished is because we moved into our house 4 days after Allison was born, so I couldn’t decorate anything while I was pregnant. To be honest, we’ve spent a little time in the nursery so far, but not much. Our master bedroom is on the first floor and the nursery is on the second. Allison is currently sleeping in her Uppababy bassinet in our bedroom and we have her changing table in the master right now as well. We will probably move the changing table in the next few weeks!
I’m not sure when exactly we’ll move her to her crib (we’ve had her nap there just a few times so far). We did install and test a video monitor which is basically the coolest thing ever but I’m sure I’ll end up spending way too much time just watching her sleep!

Also, a lot of my decor is from Hobby Lobby – I just bought more today! Where do you shop for nursery decor? Let me know!
