Hi friends, Happy Monday! Hope your week is off to a great start! Today, I wanted to share a few mood boards I put together for a sophisticated coastal design across some main living spaces – the laundry, drop zone, powder room area, living room, and master bedroom. These mood boards all coordinate together to give the first floor of this home a cohesive feel and they have a nice mix of traditional coastal pieces with some modern touches!

Laundry, Powder Room, Drop Zone
This home had a small area off the front door that contained a “drop zone”, laundry room, and powder room. I wanted the spaces to each have their own feel but really flow together since they are all right next to one another!
For the drop zone and powder room, I did a 1/2 to 2/3 wall board and batten in BM Hale Navy. In the powder room, I paired the board and batten with SW Drift of Mist paint above (which coordinates with the paint color in the living room and master bedroom). Paint is my favorite way to create a cohesive feel across a home! In the drop zone, I did a fun wallpaper from Anthropologie above the board and batten. I continued the wallpaper in the laundry room to create flow into that space!
I can’t decide if the woven raffia chandelier in the drop zone or the oyster shell mirror in the powder room is my favorite thing about this coastal design board!
Living Room
In the living room, there were already two blue sofas in place, so I just added some accents to tie everything together! I did introduce some green into the throw pillow combinations to add some more color! I did something similar in this vibrant coastal living room mood board here. If you like the blue and green combo, you can find some fun wallpaper ideas I put together last week here.
This room was an open concept living space with the kitchen and dining room all in one large room, so I wanted to also add some coordinating counter stool and island pendant ideas!
Master Bedroom
For the master bedroom, I chose a natural wood toned canopy bed to tie into some of the gray tones of the hardwood floors. Lots of blues, whites, and woven accents complete this sophisticated coastal design!
