Happy Thursday friends! It’s been a while since I posted on here! Today, I’m back with three beautiful mood boards (if I do say so myself!). These traditional meets modern mood boards are for an open concept living room, dining room, and kitchen. I like to put together these mood boards to give an overall picture of how things will flow together, particularly in an open concept space. It really helps gives a clear direction for the smaller pieces and decor in the space. These particular mood boards are the foundation for a specific design I am putting together for a client!

For all three mood boards below, I am using the same color palette. The walls will be BM Simply White. I provided three kitchen island color options to provide more contrast to the already white outer kitchen cabinets currently in place:
- BM Midnight
- BM Cheating Heart
- Farrow & Ball Studio Green
Option 1 : Olive Green Couch
I wanted to incorporate a lot of warm color tones in these mood boards, starting with the larger pieces of furniture: the couch/sectional and dining room table. I included coordinating color tones in the rest of the decor: the artwork and pillows. For example, I love how the olive green from the couch is picked up in the canvas landscape artwork.
Option 2 : Neutral Couch + Woven Accents
Another more neutral option I put together still incorporates some of those olive green tones through the rugs and pillows, but has some more taupes and tans in the furniture and artwork. This design veers slightly more traditional to me than modern.
PS! These pretty, classic windsor dining room chairs are 20% off at Serena & Lily with code WAVES for Memorial Day! The 36×36 abstract artwork is also 20% off at McGee & Co. Make sure to follow me in LikeToKnow. It and Instagram for more Memorial Day sale coverage!
Option 3 : Blue Couch + Leather + Light Wood
Lastly, I put together an option with a deep blue sectional. I love blue tones and navy is such a great, kid friendly option for a family living room! I offset this with some lighter wood tones and rug colors in the dining room and kitchen. Continuing with the Memorial Day sale items, this hourglass side table is the cheapest I’ve ever seen it at Anthropologie! I personally have this table in my living room and it is gorgeous! See it here.
I’m so excited to turn these mood boards into a specific design plan for my client! Which option is your favorite? Or a combination of all three maybe!? You can check out my information on my design services here or message me here!
